I too am former military AND a pastor. From the previous comments I expected to see something very offensive. That's not what I found. Instead, I found a very good example of the state our nation is in today. We have no idea where we came from or where we're going. And it is our responsibility as Christians to be at the forefront of getting our nation back on track. If we want God to "shed His grace" on us, we better teach others what that grace is all about.

You say this is offensive, but is this not how we act towards God a lot of the time. We are a part of his family yet we go are whole lives not knowing the words to his theme. Is he not offended by us. I see this as a great sermon illustration.
